Junior Achievement of Greater Washington Leadership Retreat

I had the pleasure of coaching participants during the Junior Achievement® of Greater Washington’s Leadership Retreat on Saturday. The day-long retreat featured a host of sessions for DC area high school students participating in the organization’s Entrepreneurship Summit, who lead five teams and departments developing real products for potential customers.

Team CEOs attended our workshop, Level-Up Your Leadership©, to discuss leadership roles and how they impact short and long-term decision making. We also explored four distinct communication styles and how they can foster positive interactions and creative team inclusiveness. A major part of the session focused on how personality types can impact how their teams collaborate, work through tasks, and achieve outcomes.

At the end of the leadership presentation, the CEOs and team division heads participated in the Strategic Action Planning and Implementation segment to explore creating actual team strategic goals, engaging stakeholders, developing action items associated with the goals, identifying resources needed, and establishing benchmarks and milestones.
