Retail legend Macy’s has announced applications for the 2019 cycle of their retail vendor business development program, The Workshop.
Now in its ninth year, The Workshop is an annual program that coaches and trains businesses that want to create a retail business pipeline. With a focus on scaling business to long-term strategy, Macy’s team members work with the participants to ready them to successfully prepare for future opportunities. From coaching on how to interact and work with fashion buyers to financial planning, program graduates have a business toolkit to propel their success once the sessions conclude.
According to Macy’s, shoppers purchased more than $1 billion in clothing and accessories from minority and women-owned fashion retailers in 2016. Notable program alumni include jewelry designer Alex Woo, skin and hair care company UI Global Brands, and private label merchandisers twelveNYC.
Designed for women, minority, and Veteran-owned businesses based in the United States, applicants should own the majority of their companies (at least 51%). The Workshop, which takes place at Macy’s in New York, begins this spring. The deadline to apply, online or by postal mail, is Sunday, January 27th at 11:59 p.m. ET.
